End of Day 2 = Beer Time

Man I’m pooped! Spent 10 hours walking around the city today, and took 4 or 5 different Tube lines in between. Hit just about everything on my checklist: Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Museum of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral (it was closed for tours, being Good Friday and all, but still amazing to visit), Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Circus, Leicester Square, and the Millenium Walk (if it’s still called that). I’m very glad this wasn’t my first time in London though – damn Tube is confusing enough! By my watch it’s about 15 hours till Brother gets here, and I’m counting them down eagerly. Jord, I can’t wait to see ya!
Oh, and by the way: the escalators here are a sight to behold. Standing on the right (single file), walking on the left. I love it! And one more thing: for such a large city, everyone sure is polite. It’s been a great 2 days :)

Wow…

… That’s about all I can say about the Tower of London. 900 years of history in these buildings… And I just saw the crown jewels!! Holy golden & diamond-encrusted everything, Batman!! And there’s still remnants of the old city wall built by the Romans in the 2nd or 3rd century… Wow…

London Day 2

After finding out that whiskey is cheaper than pints last night (dangerous!), I finally managed to have a pretty decent sleep. With everyone coming and going until 4am there weren’t many minutes in a row, but it still felt great to stop moving for a while :) The weather is absolutely gorgeous! I was in shorts all day and night yesterday, and it’s looking even nicer today. Perfect for wandering! On my way to the Tower of London shortly, then hopefully take in a museum or two. I need to be back at Heathrow by 10:30am tomorrow to meet my brother, so this is the last chance for sightseeing. Then we’re off to France!
