It’s hot… HOT! Walking from the overly air-conditioned bus to the overly air-conditioned convention centre is more like swimming than walking. The direct sunlight just about takes my breath away (literally) when the breeze dies down. And even when it rains it’s 30 degrees out… I like it

The conference is much more interesting and relevant this year, thankfully. Last year was all “this is what we’re thinking of putting in the new product” and “this might be a new feature but we’re not really sure yet” and “boy, wouldn’t it be great if we could do this?” This year some of the products have already been released, and the rest are that much closer to coming out, so the discussions revolve around actual functionality rather than projected functionality. Kind of exciting for a geek like me. And all the free trial software doesn’t hurt either! Now if I can just win the Ducatti…

The conference party this year will be at the new Universal Studios theme park Islands of Adventure. Hulk roller coaster here I come!! And the girl will be down tomorrow – can’t wait! We’re not sure what all we’ll do, but with Seaworld, Busch Gardens, Wet & Wild waterpark, Disneyworld and so much more in the area I’m sure we’ll figure something out
