site updated

new wordpress and theme updates, let me know if you find anything misbehaving.

oh, and if you have any idea what plugins we had installed, let me know :)

Edit – the domain expired a day before I was due to leave on my vacation… Thanks to some late night support from AN it seems to be back in business. Stupid IX, I knew I left there for a reason.

12 days…

what the… how did it get to less than 2 weeks until I leave? wasn’t it just 4 posts ago that I was at 40?

I wish I could say that I have a solid plan in place, that I know all the landmarks that I want to see, towns / cities that I want to visit, hikes and activities I want to do…. but I don’t have a freakin’ clue.

I find stuff, bookmark it, and then before I have a chance to go back to it to see if it really is something I want to do I find something else and move on. I’ve got maps, guide books, input from a number of people, and it is all basically just a jumbled pile in the middle of my brain.

What I know so far is this:

I land early on February 25th, and I had originally thought I would instantly head off to the north to hit the most northern point in New Zealand open to the public… Cape Regina. Narrow roads, traffic circles, and what is sure to be total exhaustion are now making me think I should take at least a day in Auckland before jumping behind the wheel of a backwards car and drive on the wrong side of the road.

Leading the charge for this decision is the fact that there is a crapload of stuff to see and do in Auckland… including disc golf :D

hopefully this week yields better results… I’d like to have at least some idea of what I’m in for ;)

February p/d/p

Theme: curves

Date: Saturday February 9th, 2008

Time: 9am GMT (converter found here, because scrolling down 4 posts is completely out of the question)

post them on flickr when you are done.

there, I didn’t forget to remind you about the upcoming p/d/p… now I just have to remember to take a picture.

**edit**

voting is up for March p/d/p, so go put in your two cents here.

what follows is the result of “plan B”… not to be confused with plan 9. Not bad for a mag light, my thumb and a 1 second shutter speed per letter.

Advance notice did allow for a few alternatives to be worked out ahead of time, so when I saw that it was going down to -35 with blowing snow around the time I was to be taking my picture… plan A got pushed aside and I worked on the indoor alternative. Plan A is noted and will hopefully take place in the relatively near future.
