Help I’m Alive (Metric – Tokyo Police Club – The Dears Concert review)

Jingle Bell Rock 2008 brought a solid lineup of Canadian artists to Calgary on December 19th, and it turns out it was well worth the price of admission and braving the sub-sero (-26.8 C to be exact) temperatures. It had been quite a while since I had seen most of these bands live (The Dears played with Matthew Good at the Whiskey in 2003, Metric was back in 2006, and Tokyo Police Club come in at the most recent with their May 18th show at the Warehouse) so to have them all come together on one stage was pretty awesome.

december: a quiet time

Well, December has been quite quiet for the Satchel. Actually, besides deleting a spam comment containing almost 800 links and the term ‘elder erotica’, the Satchel has been fairly quiet since the summer.

That’s not to say that slow posting hasn’t provided some insightful posts!

P/D/P is definitely going through some growing (constriction?) pains… but hopefully a return to 2nd Saturdays will help some of us stay with it!

I swear I will get the review of the Neil concert up soon!

Bringing my loves together

So I really enjoy hockey, I enjoy building web sites, and I like supporting the community feel of the place were I live, currently Westbank (soon to be named West Kelowna), BC. So naturally a good place for for me to advertize my web business is a local community rink where parents take their children to learn to skate and play hockey! I have a 4foot-by-4foot ad going up on the wall beside the scoreboard.

I have a craigslist posting where you can see what the ad looks like!

I really enjoy doing local projects and hopefully this will give the right kind of exposure to do even more!
