I know it’s not as much fun to predict when our team is out but anyone got some predictions for Round 2?

    Ok fine, I’ll start:

BOS over CAR in 6 – Carolina looks good but I think after Boston gets back into a groove the Flailing Thomas will win
PIT over WAS in 7 – who knows? could go either way; this is going to be a rough and nasty series but I think the veteran goalie will win it

DET over ANA in 5 – Hiller has been spectacular but the Wings crash the crease like nobody’s business; and the Wings defensive play will not leave much room for the Duck’s skilled guys
VAN over CHI in 6 – Van is going to get in to penalty trouble in this one but they only call so many penalties in the post-season, and they have wall after wall at the back end.

is it wrong that I’m just looking forward to next September?

(shrug) detroit and chicago, boston and washington.

  3. dave says:

I look forward to the Saddledome in Sept being a Bertuzzi (and hopefully Keenan) free-zone.

I’d love to see a Boston-Washington East final, with Ovechkin teaching Crosby a few lessons. Definitely find it hard to care about the West… I’ll say Detroit-Chicago because I can’t give any credit to the Canucks ;)

  5. Alan says:

Both Keenan and Bertuzzi hope / expect to be back next year according to Herald articles I’ve read…

fingers crossed the higher ups have enough sense to see that they need an entirely new coaching staff (almost 0 for 50 on the powerplay? terrible!) and if you lose Bertuzzi you get that 2 million you need to sign Cammalleri.

I figure Aucoin’s 4 mill is a much bigger gain than Bert’s 2 mill. I’d like to keep Aucoin around, but 1.5-2 mill max. That should help re-sign Cammy. That and trading Phaneuf ;)
