not the King

I really liked that game Citadels.
I eagerly anticipate playing it again.
One family’s Citadel games are coming to an end.

I hope the Amazing Rando didn’t make too much of a mess.

I need Finals predictions.

I would like a gumball, but they lose their flavour too fast.

I really did like that game Citadels.

Magic Satchel Night – May flavour

When: Sunday, May 20th (because Monday’s a holiday!) @ 7:00pm

Where: Hani’s Place

Games: The usual suspects, plus backgammon and anything new you’d like to bring. And lots of Liars Dice for Al…

What to bring: Your sweet selves, beverages of choice, iPods, your best dying giraffe impression, and your GAME FACE, BOYEEEE!! (or girl)

What not to bring: actual dying giraffes

Be there or be square!

a busy weekend…

This weekend started off with the April installment of the Magic Satchel games night on Friday night.

Prior to the party I ran off to a garage sale my parents church was putting on for a sneak preview (the benefit of being the son of one of the organizers). I went to town on the board games, buying 8 games for the whopping price of 8 bucks. EIGHT! Every game I bought is 100% complete, a definite treat for garage sale finds. Even though some games are from the 60′s, most look like they have never been played.

Magic Satchel Games Night – April Edition!

Where: the home of Alan

When: April 13, 2007 at 8pm.

What
: games, games and more games! Oh, and rum. Lots and lots of rum.

I own: LOTR risk, Survive, mille bornes, Skip-bo (card game) and more.

I can “borrow”: Italian cards, Killer Bunnys, Settlers ;)

You can bring: Pirates, not survived, any fun game for a group of people. Oh, and ice cube trays full of ice.

You can not bring: liar’s dice, food, mix, people that think they are too cool for board games.

Survive by email – Round 1

The first ever Survive! by email game is now complete, and aside from a few minor hiccups along the way things went pretty smoothly.

Sadly, I was not able to carry over my real world winning streak into the realm of the intertubes, but I blame random.org entirely for my poor player placement. This lead to my inability to get anyone off the island until quite late in the game, and only two people to safety. One more turn and I would have rescued my most “valuable” people, but alas the island exploded before the turn came back around to me.

Enough about my excuses, on to the results!

Magic Satchel Night – March edition

Those of you not in the know may be asking yourself “What the @#$ is this magic satchel night?”

Well, it is a night held once a month where we get together and play board games. The games change from one month to the next, but a few have become favorites. three cheers for board games! :)

Anyway, here is the lowdown:

Where: The home of the Amazing Rando. if you don’t know, I ain’t gonna tell you

When: March 24th, 2007 – any time after 7 or 730pm

What to bring: any games you want to play, any rum you feel like drinking, and anything you may want to sleep on.

What not to bring: Liar’s dice, people who think they are too cool to play board games, did I mention Liar’s dice? :P

The night will most likely involve Survive! and Settlers, but it is open to anything else people bring that a group may want to play.

remember our basic rule of thumb… rum + games = fun! :)
