perhaps it is time for this site to have a makeover.

any suggestions on theme changes?

i was thinking yesterday that momentum plays a role with blogs much like it does with relationships…
we must not be in a state of rest.
Well, December has been quite quiet for the Satchel. Actually, besides deleting a spam comment containing almost 800 links and the term ‘elder erotica’, the Satchel has been fairly quiet since the summer.
That’s not to say that slow posting hasn’t provided some insightful posts!
P/D/P is definitely going through some growing (constriction?) pains… but hopefully a return to 2nd Saturdays will help some of us stay with it!
I swear I will get the review of the Neil concert up soon!
after a rather lengthy time away, the site is back. I’m sure all 2 of you missed it terribly so I’m glad I can bring this irregular distraction back to you.
stupid server upgrades… and don’t try to tell me this was something I did because I don’t mess with the sql end of things unless I absolutely have to!
(deep breath)
anyway… there are things to be written about, stuff to be posted, and reminders to be made, so on with the show!
Over on the “Games Night” page, Scott has been kind enough to provide the latest information. While it was needed, I’m glad to see he didn’t increase his post count while doing it. I don’t know what I’d do if he got to 5 total posts by the end of 2008, so this leaves him plenty of room to work with.
In other news, I finally got around to updating the cycling map page. I decided to do away with the route line (for now) and just go with markers indicating where I finished up each year and where I am currently. Huzzah for being in Atlantic Canada!
I figure that if I maintain my current pace I should be done my coast to coast virtual journey by the end of the year… and then I may modify the route I have been using to include the northern coast as well.
what can I say, I need to have something to ride for.
Headers headers headers! We need new headers!!! I added new pink & purple ones today… though purple was a quick lame one. More more!!! New headers!!! Go!! Build!!! Image(ine)!!!
and then go build merit badges!!!
new wordpress and theme updates, let me know if you find anything misbehaving.
oh, and if you have any idea what plugins we had installed, let me know
Edit – the domain expired a day before I was due to leave on my vacation… Thanks to some late night support from AN it seems to be back in business. Stupid IX, I knew I left there for a reason.
After a bit of an umplanned vacation, the site is back.
Everything appears normal and I did a full backup this morning (to replace the previous backup in early August…eek.) just in case things go horribly wrong again. After flipping around a bit I find the site to be somewhat sluggish, but that just might be my internet connection here at work.
how often should I be doing a backup? daily? weekly?
Currently it is (suppsoed to be) monthly, but would it matter if we were to lose a month of posting? I imagine if we did any major changes to the site design or whatever it may be a bit upsetting to lose that, but I’ll leave it up to you guys to suggest how dilligent I should be.
i added kissing duckies. they are all blue for now. but i could change that i think. kiss duckies kiss.
let me know if you notice any problems when loading pages, or anything acting strange when you do… stuff.
new category time: site news so I can group all this admin type stuff together.
